Why Donate to the March of Dimes?
There are countless good causes out there, and they all ask for money. These causes support everything imaginable...Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, Diabetes, Cancer, Alzheimer's Disease, ALS, Autism, Down Syndrome, Girl Scouts, Little League, volunteer fire departments, school clubs and organizations, scholarship funds... You name it, somewhere somebody is rightfully passionate about raising money for it. Without all of these wonderful organizations, our society would be even more of a hot mess than it is now!
What sets the March of Dimes apart is that it is one of the few organizations that touches everyone, even if you don't realize it. We ALL have one thing in common. It's not a disease process, it's not an activity, it's not a belief. What is the one thing that we all have in common? What is the one thing that affects each and every one of us? Birth. We have all been born. Most of us have siblings, cousin, children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and/or godchildren who have ALL been BORN. There is a good chance that you know someone who was born weeks or months early. There is a good chance that you know someone who was on bed rest during pregnancy. There is a good chance that you know (or know of) someone whose child spent time in the NICU after birth. Perhaps you know someone whose baby did not survive (hint - if you are reading this, there is a really good chance that you know Jeff or Susan or their families).
All of that said, you never know when the donation you make today might unexpectedly benefit your friends or family tomorrow. With that in mind, we encourage everyone reading this to participate with or support the March of Dimes in some way.
